Cultural monuments will be available for rent in St Petersburg

St Petersburg authorities are developing a programme according to which people will be able to rent cultural heritage sites. The rent is expected to be 1 ruble per square metre.

St Petersburg programme is based on the same experience in Moscow. The government hopes that investors will endeavor to restore properties quickly so that they will be able to reduce the rent. The maximum restoration period will be 5 years.

So far, according to St Petersburg authorities, there are about 30 properties, cultural heritage sites, which are considered to be unfit buildings.
