Apartment rental prices increased by 15-20 %
Experts attribute this to an increase in the mortgage rate.
The summer of 2024 brought changes in the real estate rental market in St. Petersburg. High mortgage rates have increased the demand for rent, which has led to higher prices. Alla Shinkevich, an expert and CEO of the Nevsky Prostor real estate agency, notes that over the summer rental rates in St. Petersburg increased by 15-20 percent.
There is a shortage of apartments for long-term rent on Vasilyevsky Island, as many rent apartments for daily rent. With the arrival of autumn and the return of students, the demand for long-term rentals is growing again.
The rental conditions remain standard, with a mandatory insurance deposit. But it is still difficult for families with pets to find suitable housing.
"In most cases, apartments where pets are allowed are in poor condition," comments Alla Shinkevich.
