The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation has offered to limit cash payments for real estate and other large deals. This limitation is aimed at combating the grey economy and making property deals more transparent. The Minister of Labour and Social Protection supported this idea. However, real estate experts reacted with a bit of sсepticism to this proposal, as according to the statistics, over 80% secondary property deals are paid in cash. And most of deals are made between individuals.
It is worth reminding that the Ministry of Finance already wanted to limit cash payments in 2013. The limit was 600 thousand rubles and later they lowered the limit up to 300 thousand rubles. But that idea remained unimplemented.
